Midlands Dove Mediation: Response to The COVID-19 Update
The Government’s latest update on COVID-19 and Social Distancing, announced on the 10th May 2020 enabled us to review our service provision whilst protecting our colleagues, Mediation participants, family, friends and our local communities. We will continue to offer all our services as required, remotely.
We do not currently have a timescale as to when we will be able to offer MIAMS or Mediation Sessions face to face, within our offices, this will depend on the Governments guidance which we will continue to review.
We provide confidential Mediation services, using secure remote video platforms:
- ZOOM
- Facetime
- Skype
We continue to offer and undertake MIAMS and Mediation sessions, with our experienced, Accredited Solicitor Mediators, where appropriate, this includes free publically funded Mediation, to help families to resolve disputes in relation to (this is not a full list):
- Arrangements for the care of children
- Arrangements for children to have contact with parents, grandparents, half or step siblings
- Parenting of children
- Schooling of children
- Child Maintenance
- The ownership of property following a separation
- The division of assets, income, liabilities and pension provision on separation
- Formalisation of Separation
- Formalisation of arrangements for children following separation
- Formalisation of financial arrangements following separation
We appreciate that the use of apps and technology, for some, is daunting.
We have been using technology and remote online meetings for some time, effectively, during this pandemic and prior to it. We have received positive feedback from Mediation participants, who have used the remote video meetings with us, many of whom had never experienced these before.
We have numerous guides and adapted our policies and procedures to ensure we are able to provide assistance and support to separated families, in using remote video platforms, to resolve disputes, in a confidential and professional manner.
Our services are compliant with the standards established by the Family Mediation Council, Resolution, the Law Society and the Legal Aid Agency.
Our Solicitor Mediators and Co-ordinators have experience in using ZOOM, Facetime and Skype and will provide support in downloading, using and joining remote video meetings as part of the process and services we provide.
